The Sell-Out Crowd
Oh what a "sell-out crowd" they said. The stadium was filled to capacity. The seats were filled. Many were turned away at the door. There was simply no more room for more fans in the Stadium. It was a "sell-out crowd" that day.
The fact is, most of those out in the crowd these days can be called the "sell-out crowd". The reason for calling most people by that name is that most people "sell out" for something. They sell out for money, for fame, for family. It has been said by some that everyone has their price. I disagree that "everyone" has their price, although I think that it may be true for many if not most people in the crowd today.
The fact is, that most people have many priorities in their lives with no true standard. Nevertheless, money talks and many if not most people have their price. No, Jesus is not number one in their lives. Something else is number one. They are a part of the "sell-out crowd", selling out to the world, the flesh, and the devil. They each have their own price, but they all have a price. They are the sell-out crowd.
Some so-called Christians, even many who called themselves Fundamental or Fundamentalist Baptists are also a part of this sell-out crowd as well. They do not put Jesus and the Bible first because something else has that spot. They too have sold out to the world, the flesh, and the devil. Their hearts are pitch towards Sodom. This world is indeed their home, not Heaven. Such so-called Christians have "sold out" to sin.
Indeed putting anything else before Jesus and the Bible is a sin. It is in fact a very great sin before God, the wicked sin of idolatry. An idol is something worshipped in the place of God - something that has "first place" in your life instead of Jesus.
The Bible says that idolaters will all one day go to Hell. If you you are a part of the sell-out crowd, then you too will go to Hell one day when you die. But you will say, "Lord, Lord!" Yes, you have done some "good works". Perhaps you have been religious as well. If you are an idolater though, the Bible clearly says that you will one day go to Hell, even if your are a Baptist deacon or other religious leader. Your religious position will not save you. Only Jesus saves. No, you will have to go to Hell one day with all the other idolaters in the world.
But why go to Hell? Jesus has already died on a cross and therefore paid for your sins. Even if you are a pastor, his "assistant", a deacon, or have any other position of Christian responsibility within a church, if you have never truly trusted Jesus to pay for you sins, then you too can come to Jesus and be forgiven.
Why stay God's enemy? Why stay a part of the "sell-out crowd"? Why go to Hell when you die? Trust Jesus instead!
